And do you know if there is a good way of checking the speed control without investing in a new controller?

And if I purchase a new controller and that isn't the part will most places take them back on a return?

1. Check for pack voltages on the backside of the plugs on the controller. All the pins that have a red highlighted wires connected to them on the schematic I posted, must have pack voltage (38.2V for a fully charged 36V battery pack) on them for the solenoid to activate. If they do, either the controller. or solenoid or a few of the wires is bad. With some more troubleshooting, we can figure out which.

2. Check the vendor's return policy before purchasing.

I had an old TXT series doing this a while back. Charged up it would run for a few minutes, then just die. It had some old wires and they simply weren't up to the task. A new set around and it ran normal again. Sometimes, electrical can be the bane of your existence. I spent three days on an ezgo a while back working with Johnnie using diagrams and whatnot. Ended up being a $2 microswitch.

Gents - just replaced the reed switch yesterday and now the reverse buzzer will sound. Gave the cart a good 6 hour charge and no movement. I can hear the new cyloniod clicking....

Should I start looking for a new controller? And any recommendations on where to purchase?

A PDS with an Alltrax DCX400 controller will do in the low to mid twenties at 36V.

Are you talking about the pins marked J on the schematic or B & F?

With Run/Tow in Run, Key ON, F/R in R and pedal pushed, you should have pack voltage on:
J1 Pins 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8 & 9
J3 Pins 1, 2, 3 & 4
J4 Pins 1 & 2

Once we get the solenoid to click, we can look at the other stuff if need be.

OK. Key on, set to run, reverse with pedal down.

Checked all batteries, all showing 6.4-6.8

J1- 6=31.5 7=.5 10=.5

J3 1-2 nothing, 3=.5 4=31.5

J4 1-2 - no voltage
