Ezgo battery problems
I let my 48volt ezgo batteries sit too long without a charge and my charge is telling me they are too drained to pick up. I checked water levels and have attempting to charge them with a 12 volt car charger as directed by several reputable videos. It says I should charge them individually. However my charger just sits with no needle movement when I do this. The charger is fine. Help please

Re: Ezgo battery problems
Depending on how old and how discharged they are it may be time for new batteries. If you have a DVM check each battery voltage.

Re: Ezgo battery problems
My batteries are less than two years old. It has six 8volt batteries so I don't think I can charge them in series. However, I connected the first two in series and got a charge. But when I progress to the next two my charger just sits there and registers nothing on the meter. I've checked all the connections. And if I try to charge them individually the car charger again just sits with no needle movement.

Re: Ezgo battery problems
8 volts is tough to charge by itself or in series with a car charger. You can try "Jumping" it with another 48 volt buggy. Connect them in parallel, then hook up the charger.

Re: Ezgo battery problems
Would four nine volt batteries in series fool the charger into kicking on?

Re: Ezgo battery problems
It would be easier to jumper the chargers relay then using 9v batteries.

Re: Ezgo battery problems
If charger is transformer-less , EQ style , you cannot jumper relay.
The EQ style is factory charger for RXV and newer 48v EZ-GO as well as newer 36v catrs. EQ has 1 led (no meter) and has fins on top. Hope this helps. |
