Default Going To get a new Motor

I have a dilemma, i think we have narrowed down my problem to a failing motor. I guess that is bound to happen with adding a 500 amp Alltrax to a stock motor. Now i need to decide on a motor. Not sure whether to go with Plum Quick or D&D. I would like to be able to go between 25-30 mph but still have the torque to pull my family and a small trailer up a fairly steep hill to our neighborhood park and swimming pool. I sometimes pull a small trailer with hay bales for the other kids to ride with us. I have a lift with 23" tires so that will play into the torque and speed calculations. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Both companies have their die hard fans and critics, so it is hard for me to come to my own decision.

I have had both, and everything is a trade off with speed and torque, my vote is D+D, Vic set my options and I have been real happy with my motor.

well either are good choices.....however......wanting to attain 25-30 mph AND the torque to do the other thing you mentioned is doable.....that is if you are planning to upgrade to 48v.

IF you are already at 48v.....you just need to talk to a PRO for your motor choice.

D&D said maybe 25 after 48v conversion. That would be at the most

I dont recommend anyone try to pull a trailer at 25-30 with any golf cart, its not safe. But as others said, torque and speed are a trade-off. Golf carts typically have only rear brakes, which could lead to a jack-knife situation (if the brakes are great), or just not stopping to avoid a crash.

D&D didn't seem to really like Alltrax controllers or 23" tires. I ordered the es-6349 to get the torque I needed or so the engineer told me.

You may not hit the high speeds you think you want but you will get reliable high torque performance from this motor.

That's good to hear. I am just used to my factory motor running that fast. But I now have a fried motor due to that.
