2009 Electric EZGO RXV
I have a 2009 electric EZGO RXV. When I put the cart into "R or F" i normally hear two clicks, which let's me know the cart is engaged and ready to move.
Some times, I hear only one click, and the cart is inoperable. If I put the cart into "tow" And put it into "N", when u attempt to push the cart, it does not go anywhere. This doesn't happen all the time, sometimes it seems, if it gets oveeheated, it happens. Any advice, I would greatly appreciate |

I probably should mention, that I am new to gold cart ownership, and not that mechanically inclined ;)

Probably is your parking brake.. Put the key to off, flip to Tow and put cart in Neutral. Can you roll it ? If not, the brake is probably shot but you need to put a volt meter on the leads to be sure..

Re: 2009 Electric EZGO RXV
no, it will not move in "tow"
It doesn't happen all the time, which is strange. It seems to only do it, When it gets warm. Early morning and late evening, I don't have a problem with it normally |

Re: 2009 Electric EZGO RXV
If it will not move with it in N and Tow and there is voltage on the 2 small terminals on top of the motor brake I would suspect that.. That being said, for grins. Next time it does it, pull up on the go and brake pedals to ensure they returned to full rest and try again.. If they don't come all the way back it will fail the power up testing

Re: 2009 Electric EZGO RXV
I tried lifting on the brake, and nothing.
It has the rear buzzer, but no clicks. This happens occasional, eventually it works, maybe hour or so later |

Sounds like brake is going bad.
When cart works, drive for a while and feel the "Parking/Emergency" brake on rear of motor. If it is hot and/or stinks please post so we can help you with replacing brake. |

It does get hot, and smells like burning. Once it cools down, it seems the cart work again
