I have 2 year old trojan T105 on a 2004 txt series ... is it too late to add 2 for the jump to 48 ?
Will a stock 48v controller and solenoid work ?
thx

Yes and no.
Yes = You can add batteries to the pack at any time. The down side to adding new batts to a 2yr old pack is that with in 6 months your new batts will be equal to the majority of the pack. THis is why people often suggest adding used batteries... just be sure the batteries you add are the same type and SIZE (capacity) as the rest of the pack whether they are new or used to insure proper charging and discharging.
No = most stock components are not rated for the additional voltage. This increase in operating voltage may require a 48v controller and solenoid. Check your controller and solenoid labeling if unsure.

Hope this helps clear the air some.

Yes BUT ... the stock components in these carts are engineered for golf whether they are 36 or 48v. His old stock control is still only going to allow 225 amps 48v as opposed to your 300a 36v unit. The only difference being you are powering a 36v motor so you will probably gain some top speed due to the voltage increase but torque will not be there for off road use. For a hunter..... I would not suggest this.
