ezgo won't go faster than 7mph
Hi, i just purchased a 2000 Ezgo 36 volt cart that needed batteries, installed all need batteries and cables, still no go, installed a new solenoid, still no go, installed a rebuilt controller... finally it goes..but not over 7 mph's..batt's are fully charged and test out fine, all wires are good and tight, what could i be missing?
7mph's just doesn't cut it.. 2000 EZGO, stock, rocker on the dash, read switch is bypassed. |

Curtis. Not sure of the model think it is a 1204, I called the place that I bought it from, told them what I had and they sent it to me.

Sounds like you could possibly be getting power to the half speed reverse while in forward. Disconnect the Orange wire from the microswitch on the FNR switch and see how it runs and report back.

He has a PDS cart with the switch on the dash.
How fast does it go in reverse? Could have f1 and f2 switched on the controller. |

Same difference though. I'm not up on PDS carts to much, but I think switching the f1 and f2 wires will switch direction of the cart and his may be backwards causing the forward to be half speed. Just guessing though. |

Sounds like your speed sensor on the motor went bad.

disconnect the orange wire from the FNR switch, cart doesn't move, F1 white wire F2 black wire..thats what the book shows about the same speed in reverse..
