Balancing Battery voltage
So, I'm digging into the upgrades on the 99 TXT DCS cart now that I have a plan and a little more electrical knowledge.
I checked my battery voltage after full charge, 12 hour rest, and the pack voltage was spot on at 38.2V. These are nearly 4 yr old Interstate batteries already in the cart. Individual batteries ran the gamut from 6.31V to 6.41V. I know I should try to even these out, so can I just take a 12 volt light bulb and draw them down all down to 6.31V, then recharge the entire pack? Thanks, Paul |

Re: Balancing Battery voltage
Good question and I'm interested to find out, too.
Just for the sake of debate, what about only putting a limited charge on those that have less volts? Either way.. I think it would be hard to get them all to the same .01V measurement, right? |

Re: Balancing Battery voltage
You need to read Sergio's thread about balancing batteries. The thread is about 8V batteries but the same rules apply to 6V batteries too. I'm sure the same circuits could be used with different zener diode values to accommodate the 6 V batteries.
