It plugs into the wiring harness to get the 48v.

the only connection to my battery pack is on the + and - of the total 48v pack.

The dealer I bought the cart new from in 2014 told me he orders all his carts from the factory with light kits installed and they all come with 48v to 12v reducers installed.

That does not mean that all 2014 CC Precedents have the converter.
Not all 2014's came with the factory lights.

Precedents can have factory 48-12 reducer. It would be mounted on the front shock tower. Its plug and play and is the only way I would go if I had a precedent. All the holes are already drilled, takes 15 minutes to install and the reducer is the best in the industry. Yes, its cost money, but your way ahead going this route. I talk all my customers into it because it is so good.
