wiring question
the cart i just scavenged for my motor and controller, had 4 ga cables, for the the batts but 6 ga from the motor to controller, d and d motor and 600 amp controller. the owner had a shop install the motor, controller, and cables, they told him the controller to motor cabled didn't need to be larger.?? a 2013 cc precedent

Re: wiring question
Boils down to this it's better than having just 6 gauge cables but not as good as having only 4 gauge cables...
But honestly on a 600 amp controller I'd much rather see ALL cables in 2 gauge... |

Re: wiring question
A 600 amp controller is big, use 2 gauge cables throughout...
The orange and blue field wires on the motor (F1 and F2) don't need to be upgraded. They can remain the stock 10 gauge. |
