Happy holiday weekend. I have planned a little time to work on this conversion this weekend.

It works. Took just a little time to complete the installation this AM. It did not work initially so I looked at teh LED status light and it flashed 1-2 under voltage code. Hmmm - checked my batteries = 37.5 volts. plugged in the laptop and moved the undervoltage from 38v to 28v ( 48 to 36 volt limits)
And whala forward and reverse with a beeper. Laptop showing no faults and throttle reaching 100%. I'm a ha-ha-happy boy

I have some work to do on the cart before I can drive it. Like seats, tire swaps, and roof repairs. All the above work and tests were done on the lift. She hasn't actually moved on her own yet.

Curious to see what kind of performance I get out of the B2 on 36v !
I'll charge it up and let you know.

Ugh ! Got ready to go for the maiden and grrrrr. She's a no go
It tries but as soon as it rocks forward or reverse there is a loud grinding noise and no movement.
Hopefully it's just a stripped hub and not a rear end problem.
You gotta love CL sellers - this is a disappointment.
More news later. Hopefully it's good

Later ... never have I been so happy to find a stripped hub seller forgot to tell me about

Test run #1 Stock 18" golf cart tires. No lift, no big tires, no rear seat. Just a stock 1992 Marathon with the CU TXT48 conversion 400 amp XCT control, Admiral B2 motor, and 36v good used batteries freshly charged.
I'm impressed. I didn't start out to sing praise about the TXT48 conversion on 36v. I started out thinking wondering if the TXT control could perform well on 36v so that the budget conscious DIYer could run the conversion on 36v now and 48v later.
And the answer is yes. Here are the numbers:

Flat ground gravel road I got 20 mph
Uphill same road I got 12 mph and more
Downhill I got 22-23 mph

Impressive considering 12 mph was the original cart speed. The kit is made for 48 volts. 48v is where you want to operate this kit but this proves it can run on 36v until a 48v battery source can be secured.
Test run #2 will be 48v coming soon

Aw man I'm excited to see what it does on 48v!

Did the install turn out to be fairly straightforward?

We may not actually put 48v batteries in this cart.

This kit is essentially the same as the TXT48 kit for Series TXT. And this carts gear ratio is the same too. So we know it will run out at 22-23 on stock tires and 24-25 mph on 20 " tires. Success

Post #1 says a 1991 Marathon and post #24 says it's a 1992 so what range of years will this work on?

Post #18 says "This kit is working with an existing throttle and pedal assembly used in the first Ezgo series controller carts produced from about 1990 - 1994."

Regarding earlier years, post #20 says:"If the cart was modded so the pedal worked a 0-5k potentiometer with a foot switch it would essentially be the same as the early 90s cart. And the kit could work except that I'm unsure if the B2 motor would bolt up for all years."

This kit will be offered for all factory solid state Ezgo Marathon 1989 - 1994. Officially we think of the solid state dawn as 1990 but a few solid state carts did roll off the assembly line in 1989.
