What do you think would happen?
What would happen if someone with a 48 volt cart,( 6-8volt batteries)
Would put a 12 volt in place of one of the 8 volts? Would the pack then be 52 volts? Would the 12 volt battery charge back up to 12 volts? Might be a good thought with a pack that is a little tired? |

Re: What do you think would happen?
Cart would handle it OK, but the batteries would discharge and charge at different rates. A 12v battery does not have the same capacity as an 8v battery, so the 12 would likely be over-discharged during use, and over-charged when charging which would more quickly kill the 12v battery than the others.

Re: What do you think would happen?
And 12v batteries are significantly larger size as well. Remember, your pack is always as strong as the weakest battery, so putting in one big one isn’t going to give you extra power if old ones are going out. [emoji1303]
