Default FNR wiring issue

I have a 96 club car electric. Upgraded all components. When I upgraded the FNR to new heavy duty and reattached the wires to it wouldn’t go in reverse. The solenoid clicks but no reverse. Detached the green, black and white and wired green and white together. Got full speed reverse. Forward is fine but no slow reverse. Tried the new resistor and old. Niether works. It’s full speed or nothing in reverse. Any ideas? Thanks. Mark

Bad micro switch on the new F&R switch maybe? It should have the green wire on top, followed by the black, then the white. Try swapping black and white around and see if reverse works but forward quits working.

That is exactly what happens. Flip black and white and it goes full speed in reverse and doesn’t go forward. Which piece do I replace!

That #3 microwitch has failed. Replace it.

It's either a failed #3 micro switch or a failed half-speed resistor.

Measure your new resistor with the multimeter to make sure is close to 5,100Ω.

Also make sure the wires are connected to the switch in the locations TahoeDawgZ71 indicated.
