Default Alltrax conversion. Voltage reducer question

So I recently swapped out the analog to digital with a Scotty B c54 kit. Now I'm installing a 36 to 12 voltage reducer. My question is: does the 36v negative go to the b- on the controller or directly to the last battery in series? Also does the 36v positive go to the 1st battery or on the controller somewhere? Also, off the voltage reducer is a fuse box on the 12v side. Does a fuse need to be placed anywhere in between the 36v positive and the fuse box?

It's always best to limit the number of wires attaching directly to the batteries since the battery post are lead and corrode easily. B- is the appropriate place for the negative wire. Follow the big wire on pack + to it's first stopping point and place the positive for the reducer there. As for fuses, with your reducer there should be a fuse on the 36V positive input. Leave it there. There should be no connection from 36V to the fuse box. The reducer will have a 12V + and - wire. The + goes to the fuse box and the - goes to your negative buss bar, which could be part of the fuse box depending on model.

No fuse or Instructions came with unit. Sounds like a fuse should go there. What amperage, 30? Unit is 240 watt

Sounds like you have a 20A reducer and that 240 watts is the maximum total wattage that can be used for all accessories. The size fuse to use on the input + side is dependent on the input wire size. Wire size 10 AWG = 30 amp fuse, 12 = 20, 14 = 15.
