Re: 2001 DS 5 mph top speed, new Alltrax control
Here is a quick question before I go out and get more info from the cart. When I swapped out the cables I by passed going thru the OBC with the negative wire. Would this have any effect on the discharge amps? I'm using a MODZ charger which seems to be doing the job.

Not sure on the details but im sure someone here will elaborate. I always remove the problematic OBC and bypass the harness... letting the DPI Accusense charger handle the batteries. |

Re: 2001 DS 5 mph top speed, new Alltrax control
OK, I took the OBC out of the equation, because I didn't run the negative wire through it when I replaced the cables and of course everything is closed so it was easier to remove it.
I used ScottyB's Method for a 2001 DS "On a series cart you will cut the heavy black wire going from the charge to the OBC at the OBC and connect this wire to battery #6 main negative. Disconnect the gray wire at the charge port. Yellow solenoid activation wire is OBC controlled.... cut this wire at the OBC and connect to controller" Everything seems to working fine. I attached some pictures of my alltrax settings. The monitor chart shows going up a steep hill at 100% throttle. Everything seems to be running OK, but I'm still hung up on why I'm not drawing more amps while going up the hill. Any help is much appreciated |

What is your speed going up that hill? It may be all the amps required to go up that hill. On flat land a 3hp motor only uses 50 amps full throttle. My guess is that you need to add some horsepower.
