Have you adjusted the throttle and torque curves as Nole suggested? You just need to play with them until you get it the way you like it.

I'm wondering if he maybe has the field wires swapped and fwd is reverse and reverse is forward.

The throttle mapping has a huge impact on how it drives. Mine was pretty froggy right out of the box.
After some tuning and tweaking, it drives like stock now.

I mimicked Sergios curve. Hes posted it here before.
I may have a screenshot somewhere. Ill see if I can find it for you.

Here's were mine is set. Throttle feels like stock and drives smooth as butter.

I just plugged in to the cart and screencaptured all settings. Can't guarantee if it will help or not, Im far from being an expert on these but it seems to work well on my cart.
