Quick Wiring Question - 07 Precedent
Thanks for all the responses the last couple of days. Couple quick wiring questions:
1) I'm installing a switched 48v to 12v reducer where the OBC used to be. Is there a place in the factory harness under the seat where I can tap into the switched side of the key? I can run a wire to the dash but with the harness right there that seems like it would be much easier. 2) I'm installing an AllTrax 400Amp Controller tomorrow. I understand that with aftermarket controllers you do not need to connect the Blue and white wires. If that is the case, how do you wire in the charger interlock? The charger is an Allied Lithium with OEM precedent plug but I do not know if it comes with the sense wire. Thanks again for the help! David |

Re: Quick Wiring Question - 07 Precedent
Since you are installing an Alltrax Controller you will be freeing up four wires that were used with the Curtis Diagnostic Tool. Use one of them.

No, you have to connect them to 48V.

Re: Quick Wiring Question - 07 Precedent
The light Blue wire on the Solenoid activation terminal is +48v from the key switch output.
You can connect your converter trigger wire to that terminal. Keep the Blue and White wires jumped at the OBC so the Alltrax controller will work without configuration changes to the interlock signal. I don't know if the allied charger provides any form of lockout signal on their 3-pin plug or makes the sense pin/wire reachable inside the charger for modifications. |

So ...i'm going to use the old OBC harness to jump the blue and white wires. Where I'm a bit lost is what to do with the 3rd pin/ground wire. I know I can use it to take advantage of the charger lockout but unsure how to do it. |

Re: Quick Wiring Question - 07 Precedent
Good news on the charger since You have an Alltrax Controller, here is how you configure to retain the charger lockout.
1) Disconnect the OBC Blue and White wire jumper, tape the white wire as it will no longer be used. The cart will now be in lockout mode when the charger is plugged in to the cart (AC power or not to the charger). |

Re: Quick Wiring Question - 07 Precedent
Thanks for the help everyone...got everything completed today and everything worked first pass...always a relief.
OBC Bypass, switched 48v converter, HD solenoid, Alltrax 400 with FN Key (which I love), swapped coil over for A Arm 6" lift, new shocks all around. This thing rides like a new cart! Honestly the best thing about the Alltrax is the adjustable Regen. With the factory controller the Regen was so so aggressive. The adjustability of thatvto me is a game changer. So, thanks for the help everyone... successful project completed! |
