If I recall correctly, the solenoid is around $100, controllers are $425-$550 depending on model/amps and maybe $150-ish for battery cable set.

I saved some money by making my own 2awg cables... but definitely buy the critical stuff from a site sponsor.
I grabbed a cheap solenoid from Amazon and it ended up smoking two controllers before I figured it out. The $40-$50 I saved on that solenoid cost me several hundred in controllers. Lesson learned.

You get Speed Code 4 from a CC dealer, and they typically charge $100.

With the speed code 4 controller I could muster 21mph with new Trojans and stock tires.
With no other changes, it went 27mph with the Alltrax and had gobs more torque. With 23" tires it now goes 31mph.

So an upgraded controller/solenoid will increase speed and torque on a stock motor, whether IQ or series motor? And especially so with #2 wires? Is that what I'm reading here?

Im running 25mph on a controller (xct500), solenoid and 2g cables on the stock 2012 motor.

Just to clarify, a new Controller will not increase the speed of a Series cart and only increase the torque during partial throttle.

So with series, a speed increase mainly occurs from a faster motor? I guess you get a little from bigger tires but not 15 or 19 mph, correct?
