Exclamation Amber Battery Light never comes on

Hello All!

I purchased a 2015 precedent 2 weeks ago, that was a previous golf course cart. I have searched the forums for information about the amber battery light. It will not turn on ever. When I in plug in the charger, the reverse horn blows 3 times, but the battery light doesn't blink. I have unplugged the ac power to the charger to create an error code and it will not blink. I took the light out of the dash to verify that it works and it does. I have directly hooked it up to 12v, 18v, and 48v and the light works no issues. I have put a volt meter on the light leads in the cart and plugged in the charger. The meter reads 14v, with each honk of the reverse buzzer. The light remains off. I am racking my brain trying to figure out if this is a controller issue or wire harness issue. Any tests I can run or ideas will be appreciated!!!

Thank you!!!

Welcome...

Check the wiring on pin #11 (blue/yellow) terminal on the controller 16 pin connector...That pin sends the signal for the light..

Check the condition pin #8 (blue/yellow) from the controller of the 9 pin connector behind the instrument panel...

The yellow/green wire on the light is the source wire from pin#8 of the 9 pin connector...Check for voltage here first and work your way back to the controller...

If nothing coming out of the controller the led driver has failed..

There is a parameter setting on the Curtis programmer to turn the beeps and light off but I don't think seperately...

You can look in the wiring diagram stickies...On page 3 you will see diagrams for 2014/15 Precedents...Follow the wiring from pin 11 on the controller to the light..
