Just bought a 2000.5 DS
Just bought a 2000.5 club car DS for $1800 which I think is pretty decent considering prices around me and how fast carts were selling.
Serial is A0038 so DS, year 2000 and 38th week of production right? Doesn’t have a back seat so that will be the first thing along with new rear leaf springs (I read medium are better than HD as they aren’t as harsh). I heard madjax seats are shallow, what’s the best brand? Future projects might be a 3” lift and new wheels and street tires. Also interested in alltrax controller for performance but also security as I think you can lock it from your phone. TIA! |

Yes, definitely go with the medium duty leaves! Cart Parts Plus (site sponsor) sells them: http://www.cartpartsplus.com/club-ca...=medium%20duty |

Re: Just bought a 2000.5 DS
So ended up with a 2002 DS (IQ model). It was fixed up by a local guy who I bought it from, new brakes, motor, controller, new batteries (January 2020). Front body cowl has seen better days so some bondo work might be in my future unless I can find a used front. Having someone update the speed code as its not super fast now and hopefully that will be good enough.
I think I want to do a small 3" lift and some new tires wheels later on, who makes the best 3" lift, rhos, jakes? Whats an ideal tire/wheel size? I was reading on a vendor site and it seemed like a total height of 20" was ideal. Looking for some wheels with a classic design (bullet wheel or one with a bunch of spokes). Cart has a back seat but doesn't flip down though the hinge is there but seat is just attached to the base, are there individual parts so I could convert it to a flip down style? Sorry for all the question and thanks? |

Congrats on the cart!
I wouldn't mess around with the $100 speed codes, just get a high speed magnet for $25. https://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/p...otor-iq-system |

But if you want to keep regen, which I did, you need the speed code.

Re: Just bought a 2000.5 DS
Got the speed code. Its ok for now but I am going to upgrade to a new controller eventually but want to get some other things fixed first. Lift and new wheels will come before controller as hopefully that will net a couple more MPH.
Looking at a A frame 3-4" lift, what size wheel would be optimum for this setup (seems like 10-12" wheel is ideal with 20"-22" tires on a 3-4" lift). Whats the best A frame lift, jakes, all sports, rhox? |
