Default Club Car Precedent 2004 limping after incline

I searched around but this is kind of specific and can’t seem to narrow it down. I’ve got a club car precedent with a new speed sensor and MCOR 2. The cart was in permanent limp mode before those parts. Now everything is fine until I go up an incline. On an incline the cart cuts out and then returns in limp mode. Maybe not limp mode as it’s a little faster than that I think but it’s slow. I can cycle the tow switch to get the speed back. Is the hill putting a load on something and shutting it down? I’m reading there is a OBC but not sure if that has anything to do with drive control. Any help is appreciated! TIA.

Did you get an OEM sensor and MCOR, or aftermarket?

Supposedly OEM but I can’t really tell. They were from golf carts unlimited or something like that I’d have to go back and look at the invoice. They were listed as OEM and they weren’t cheap but I didn’t notice any official markings on them.

I would think if it was a speed sensor/mcor issue it would show itself other than when on an incline. I’m wondering if the OBC is seeing a draw down on the battery and shutting down or something but that’s just me guessing. I don’t know if the OBC has anything at all to do with speed control.

What is your battery voltage under load...

Not sure. I don’t have a meter hooked up. I can clip a multimeter on and drive it if that would work.

Yep, and find the steepest hill you can when doing the load test.

I was reading elsewhere and found a similar case where a guy suggested a high speed magnet. I happen to have one so I threw it on there. It runs perfectly now and inclines have no ill effect. I have no idea why that worked. Maybe the OBC was monitoring speed vs draw and didn’t like what it saw on an incline? Either way it works now and is scary fast so I’m hopefully done working on it for a while!

Perfect!

Did your old magnet look okay?

The OBC only controls charging, it doesn’t have any effect on speed.

Magnet looked fine and was the brand new one that came with the sensor.

Interesting, could've just been defective I guess...
