Re: Golf Cart issues Controller or Solenoid???
The stud is loose against the housing of the motor. The front nut was frozen at first, but holding the back nut, I was able to free the front one. When I tried using vice grips to hold the stud and free the back but, I wound up stripping the stud a bit. I was able to thread the from but back on nice and tight against the wire. But the white stud s still loose no the motor. For now I zipped tied it tight to the motor. I ordered new brush’s/studs for the motor. Hopefully that will fix that.
Of note. After the above steps, I was able to drive for 30+ mins straight up and down hills with no issues except one. At the very beginning of the trip, the cart was barely going again and it took some time to get going, just like before, it felt like it poppies into gear and we went full speed. It happened a second time during this trip when I went into reverse. As able to reverse with no issues. Then it wouldn’t go forward. I put t back in reverse and it was fine, when I put it back in forward, it felt like one thing clicked and we were go good to go. Could this be the forward/reverse handle or the v-glide? Or could the loose terminal above have caused a short in the motor? |

Re: Golf Cart issues Controller or Solenoid???
Update: Golf cart ran all night yesterday with no issues. No jumping or delays in power. I just need to figure out what I should be looking to replace. I am going to attempt to fix the brushes on the motor, but if that fails I will need another motor. If I replace the motor, does the speed controller have to be upgraded right away? I will have a 400 HD solenoid here on Friday. Or should I be looking at the v-glide? Could the terminal being loose in the motor be causing a periodic short that would explain everything?
