Few questions on 2 AWG cable swap
I am swapping to 2 AWG cables this week and have pulled the controller up and trying to understand the approach I need to take... So... most the cables seem straightforward. However, there are jumpers/leads on the main - & + that I want to see how it has/recommended to be done.
Cut the wire, crimp on a post connection? Lastly, I noticed the case for the fuse says 30 amp... but there is a 4 amp inside of it, it is blown (i arced the motor studs last week when changing rear shocks) . |

Re: Few questions on 2 AWG cable swap
For the small jumper leads, I would just cut the wire before the spade connectors and crimp a ring terminal on there, placing it on the solenoid post on top of the large cable.
Regarding the fuse, replace it with another 4 amp. |

Re: Few questions on 2 AWG cable swap
I cut the small wires and put them into the new ring terminal with the 2 ga. wire. You have to massage them a little bit to make them fit, but once in, it was just fine.

Yeah my cables are coming built. This something I can do with them being built or your meaning prior to crimping the 2 AWG cables?

Re: Few questions on 2 AWG cable swap
You just need to cut the blue spade connector off and get a ring terminal that fits on the battery post. Slide that on with your new 2G cable. Ill post a picture of mine in a minute.

Re: Few questions on 2 AWG cable swap
You will need to do the same thing in by the controller as well. I did not want to merge them with the new cables.

Re: Few questions on 2 AWG cable swap
Ok, these are on the solenoid & controller end of the cable, so to keep from needing to add wires, I can do the same as you did above, just on the solenoid / controller posts right?

Re: Few questions on 2 AWG cable swap
Correct, that is what you need to do. positive to solenoid positive and the negative to controller B- I believe.
