Anyone have a diagram on how to wire 12v lights from two of the 6v batteries in an ezgo cart?

Any 2 of your batteries that have the cable between them is 12 volts. So any number of sets will work. Just make sure there is a cable between the 2 batteries you hook to.

Hey Andy,
I have heard drawing 12v off the group was NOT a good thing and I didn't want to deal with two seperate chargers, but this makes perfect sense to me. I assume the switch & fuse is closed only during charging...? Please correct me if I'm wrong...! Thanks for sharing your wisdom. Danny aka: SKUNKVILLE SCOOTER |

Re: How to wire 12v lights on two 6v batteries?
The switch and fuse were for my setup in the 04 PDS in case of emergency use. My kids had a bad habit of riding the cart with the radio on all day and never turned it off. So when I went for a ride that night the battery would be dead. I got tired of this after many times of telling them so I hooked the switch and fuse inline to 2 of the 6 volts so if the 12 volt went dead it would be able to draw off 2 of the 6 volts only enough to get home on. Switch is normally open unless the 12 volt is dead. You have to watch the 6 volts and keep them up on the same level as the other 4. It worked great though.

Here's how I did it:
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/membe...998-ez-go.html Click on the schematic. I have three 12 volt circuits on my 9 year old Exides. I regularly monitor voltage and haven't needed to rotate my loads, as they are fairly balanced as far as total amp-hrs. |

Re: How to wire 12v lights on two 6v batteries?
I just got a 12V Deep Cycle Marine/RV battery today and am looking to do this... Can you plese take a look at my crude diagram and tell me if I am on the right track?
Basically does the positive of the 12V go to the Positive of a 6V and the Neg go to the Neg of the next 6V? I drew this diagram from the drivers side of how mine is configured with POS as Red and Neg as Black. |
