Any 2 of your batteries that have the cable between them is 12 volts. So any number of sets will work. Just make sure there is a cable between the 2 batteries you hook to.

Hey Andy,

I have heard drawing 12v off the group was NOT a good thing and I didn't want to deal with two seperate chargers, but this makes perfect sense to me.

I assume the switch & fuse is closed only during charging...?

Please correct me if I'm wrong...!

Thanks for sharing your wisdom.

The switch and fuse were for my setup in the 04 PDS in case of emergency use. My kids had a bad habit of riding the cart with the radio on all day and never turned it off. So when I went for a ride that night the battery would be dead. I got tired of this after many times of telling them so I hooked the switch and fuse inline to 2 of the 6 volts so if the 12 volt went dead it would be able to draw off 2 of the 6 volts only enough to get home on. Switch is normally open unless the 12 volt is dead. You have to watch the 6 volts and keep them up on the same level as the other 4. It worked great though.

Here's how I did it:

Click on the schematic.

I have three 12 volt circuits on my 9 year old Exides. I regularly monitor voltage and haven't needed to rotate my loads, as they are fairly balanced as far as total amp-hrs.

I just got a 12V Deep Cycle Marine/RV battery today and am looking to do this... Can you plese take a look at my crude diagram and tell me if I am on the right track?

Basically does the positive of the 12V go to the Positive of a 6V and the Neg go to the Neg of the next 6V? I drew this diagram from the drivers side of how mine is configured with POS as Red and Neg as Black.
