This may be the cheapest way to go. The hook up is one wire and at 35 amps you shouldn't have any dead batteries.
How do you drive it ? Pulley?

But... since it’s a v twin we lose a bunch of room...
adding an alt may be very hard to do.
I’d say run leds mostly for now as it’s what I will do.
But I’d still want about 10 - 15 amps minimal to ensure it’s charging the batttery

If you used Vegas Carts aluminum pulley to drive the alternator -- That would supply plenty of power. The alternator could be mounted low -- either front or rear of the engine cradle. I went the route you want to go, I used Genuine Honda parts. Do you have a source for predator parts. You will need the proper flywheel with the proper number of magnets for the coil setup you install to get full amps out of the coil. I bought a 200 watt 18 amp coil for my VC460. It came with a 2 magnet flywheel which is good for 2 single 3 amp coils but it required a 4 magnet flywheel to go with the 4 pole stator. I wouldn't mix up different model parts till you know the crossover is correct and the parts will interchange.

I will be using the pulley on the crank.

I was thinking about expanding my engine mount and putting the alternator on the expansion.

Here’s a thought and maybe someone is smarter or has done this before.
In the China engine pit bike world, they put out very minimal amps.
Guys are re wounding their stator with more copper wire and are getting more amps out of their setup. It does cost a little bit for the copper wire and time to re wound it.

I found out that the 670 will only put out about 12.3 volts which is not enough to run any lights or a stereo etc.

The charge coils produce an a/c voltage which the regulator converts to dc voltage, problem is it is just not enough volts or amps to do the job.

here is how i got around it with out an expensive up grade to alternator kit.

you need 1 50 amp rectifier (universal) for a CC or mac charger
misc wire and connectors.

see diagram, cut the 2 blue wire connector to voltage regulator and install per diagram.

at 3500 rpm you can achieve 13.2 volts at around 8-9 amps depending how low your battery is, charge coils won't produce much more than this so you don't need a regulator for voltage. When running lights voltage will drop to around 12.6 volts which should keep battery from going dead.

is there enough clearance to add a mini alternator?
