Default Yamaha G8 clutch

I have a g8 and when you go to start it and crank it the drive clutch will lightly run the frame and make a grinding noise. But once it starts and the clutch is pulled in it quits. Then when it quits again and the clutch goes out it will grind until it quits spinning. It is the factory clutch with suspension and everything stock also. Thanks all!

You might have an engine mount that is bad. That would allow the engine to sit farther to one side.

Do this: with the engine OFF, pull on the engine sideways back and forth to see if it moves more than 1/4". If there is a lot of movement, better order some engine mounts. You can have someone else wiggle the engine while you inspect the mounts, use a flashlight, look to see if the rubber is torn.

That cart is in the age range where rubber parts are failing. 10-15 years is all you get with rubber.
