I used your instructions in that I pulled air cleaner, carb, cables, belt, starter removed and laid aside, muffler, then the 4 14mm mount bolts and out it came. Not exactly, but...!

Head bolts 20 ft lbs,rod nuts 29 ft lbs, valves 4 thousanths when the engine is cold.

One more...:

The compression rings look identical except that one has an "R" marked on it as well as a dark line across the face of it close to the end gap. Any signifigance? Is there an up/down top/bottom to the rings? No markings in the package as I'm used to with most small engine rings. (These are the JN5-11610-00 rings)

Back together after hone and new rings. Fired right up and runs nice. Thanks for the help.
