Default 36 volt won't go

When I push pedal first time I hear a click but doesn't move, push pedal again no click. Switch to reverse same thing, back to forward again same results. Batteries are reading correct voltage.

Ezgo made several speed control system though out the years.... It is not possible to advise what the problem may be with knowing which system you have. If you give the manufacture # from the ID tag in or below the glove box these guys will have half a chance of being able to advise you ....

I was finally able to get back with the numbers 971567 and J2796. When I pulled the controller cover, I found a wire that looks cooked coming from the batteries and a mark on the solenoid. I plan on ordering a new soleniod and resistor/diode to start.

You need to check the solenoid with a voltmeter.... put the cart on blocks and check to see if the positive power is getting thru the solenoid to the B+ on the controller..... If so is it full voltage?

Just because you hear a solenoid click doesn't guarantee it is making contact inside ....

Sounds like something fun to do when I get back in town wednesday. On the non controller carts I could jump the solenoid and make the tires turn over. Is there a way to do that with these controller carts just for a quick check?

NO this is a different animal....
Do you have a toggle switch for direction selector?
Is there a toggle switch on the environmental cover over the controller?
