Default charging problem

Can somebody help me with my charging problem .
I have a 2001 club car villager .
When i put the charger on all the batteries reads 8.4 volt.
but the output only read 33.8 volt .
Can it be the wires.

These readings with the charger on mean nothing. You are reading the charger. Battery readings should be taken 30-60 minutes after the charger has been shut off


Yes, the wires could be run wrong find a wiring diagram for your cart in the stickies at the top of this section!

That pic is definitely NOT right!!!!

Here's a pic out of my 96 manual... (not exactly sure where the black controller wire goes though!)

Check out figure 2 for your 48V system!
