Powerwise charger not working
My 36 Volt Powerwise charger was having problems sporadically shutting off and not working. I took it to a shop and they replaced the control board for $140. The next time I charged the cart the same thing happened with the charger shutting off prematurely within an hour. The batteries are all new and load test good. We took the cart and charger to another shop where they tested the charger and say its working right. I plugged the cart in tonight and after an hour the charger shut off again. Not sure what the problem is? How many amps should it be putting out during the initial 15-30 minutes of charging? It drops below 10 amp quickly and then turns off after 60 minutes. All the wiring on the cart is good. After the charger shut off tonight, I just plugged in an old Lestronic charger and am waiting to see how long it runs. Any ideas what the problem could be? Thanks

Re: Powerwise charger not working
I checked the other charger after 2 hours and it was turned off. Batteries were 6.53 volts and a total of 39.6 volts. What should the normal finish voltage be?

Re: Powerwise charger not working
I have that Trojan battery SOC chart but what kind of messed me up was today when testing the batteries with a new load tester it showed them all just below the "good" range line...I figured they needed a charge to read in the green on the tester. Ah I think just got confused for a moment. Thanks for bringing me back to earth scotty!

Re: Powerwise charger not working
I have a question about battery testers. Is it better to use one that is lower amps for the deep cycle batteries or does it matter? Mine's 138 amps.

Re: Powerwise charger not working
I don't know the answer to that? Somebody may ... I use a 100 amp tester... But I rely on SG readings and the load tester together .....
