My Quest For New Batteries...
I have a 1989 CC resistor cart that, of course, sucks amperage like there is no tomorrow...
I really wanted something with more amps than the six year old T-105's in the cart but I had a hard time convincing any of the dealers that! Here are some of the prices in east central Florida that I was able to find: I was quoted Trojan T-105s for $101 and US Battery 2200's for $98 from most places. The Interstate store was so out of line I didn't record what batteries they were offering but their low end started at $120 and went to $126 and $136. I said No Thanks! At another place, I was quoted US Battery 145's for $135.50 but it would take about ten days to get them in... Being a now kind of guy, I kept looking... I found six US 125's for $118 each but when I looked further, the manufacturing dates where all over the place with one being over a year old. They had T-145's for $163 but that seemed too high... They had some US 145's at another location for $140 but they were 100 miles away and didn't know the dates and would take 4-5 days to get delivered... They decided to give me a better deal on the T-145's and came back with $145 each! A little more than I wanted to pay but I think (hope!) it will end up being worth it. |
