G1 only runs when
1985 g1 running great until yesterday, disconnected fuel line at carb and no fuel seems to be pumping out took the fuel pump apart looked good cleaned and checked every thing and reassembled still no fire ,no fuel....
MY question is when I pour gas in the carb fires right up runs for a few seconds ,so do I just start at the gas tank replace all lines and a new pump? The carb I took apart and cleaned also |

You didn't happen to run it low on fuel did you? If so, fill the lines with fuel. The pump doesn't have enough suction to prime itself.
Also, make sure the pickup tube is still dangling inside the fuel tank. |

Someone put a primer ball on mine and it helped prevent any problems.

I'm guessing it's similar to the ones used on outboard motors.

Fuel supply line coming off of tank is primer bulb that are used on portable tanks on boats and then the fuel filter is moved to a different location past bulb inline.
