Default 2002 TXT carb float problem

Re-posting as a new thread.

2002 Ezgo TXT was episodic dogging and dies - believed to be fuel problem

Cleaned the carb, replaced all fuel lines, new filter, new fuel pump, new spark plugs. Would not start. No fuel going into new filter. Pulled pump discharge line, turned over engine, fuel filter quickly filled and pump began spurting fuel - but still would not start. Pulled fuel line off carb, after several engine rotations, began spurting fuel at carb - put the line back on - still no go. Pulled the carb and bowl to make sure float was not stuck up - with bowl off, turned over engine - no fuel coming into bowl. Removed float and float needle valve - turned over and fuel spurted out of hole from float needle valve. As soon as I put the float needle valve back in and put float on (with float in lower position) no fuel to bowl. There is a spring on the float needle valve that pushes the float down - it seems like there should be enough fuel pressure from the fuel pump to push fuel past the spring on the float needle valve when the float is in the lower position. Not so.... Any suggestions? Is it possible the float needle valve is faulty?

Thank-you, had not seen the other post. Will give it a try and see. If all else fails I am thinking I am going to buy a new carb off amazon. Looks like I can get an aftermarket carb for arround $40.
