Default 295 rebuild or swap

Newb to issues on this cart 2001 TXT gas 295 Crankshaft broken where threads are skirts broken off pistons and a broken connecting rod, should I rebuild this or replace with rebuilt 295, 350 or 375.
I would do the GX630 but dont want to spend that on this right now. primary use will be pit cart at dirt track (pushing Midget racing 1000lb car around the pits no tension flat ground.) and around the house driving

If you decide on a swap I will suggest that you check with Motors and More in Appling Ga.
They have treated me extremely well.

The crank is broken or just a rod?

the threaded part of the crank is snapped off along with the broken rod there is a light impression on the bottom side against the sleeve of the cylinder as well where part of the crank touched it

If the crank snapped, you are better off replacing.. The crankshafts are very pricey.. You may find an engine here from one of the members an engine you can get a crankshaft from... It all can be fixed but will take some time.. If you are looking for fast and easy then just replace it... you can look in the for sale section on the bottom of the home page and might find an engine from someone doing a big block swap.

If I replace and go to a 350 is it A direct bolt in or would I be better off with a 295 bored to a 375. If I don't find another 295 cheaper

350 will bolt right up.. It and the 295 are the same bolt pattern.. You will like the change in power... If you want to you can find the 350 block and put the 295 head on it.. Higher compression values will yield better power.. I have done several.. The 295 head bolts right on and is a piece of cake... It's up to you.. You have some options there.

ok if I do the 350 what all else will i need to change over along with the engine. id be looking to stay pre MCI unless there is a benefit to going with the MCI.

You could also check out the clone engine swaps in the big block section.
They can be done for a very reasonable price

Just the carb that comes with the engine.. I believe it has a larger main jet in the carb than the 295.. everything else plugs right up if you stay pre... There is no advantage in my book to go to the MCI... you'll just have to buy a different igniter and wiring harness..
