G2 low oil light & sensor
i have a G2 in great shape. i have bumped up the governor but not so far that the rev limiter shuts me down. as i approach top end i will get an oil warning lamp on. it will stay on until i stop and wait then it will go out. when i check the oil level its fine. i checked to see if the oil was accumulating under the valve cover and no it is not. on the g9 they eliminated this feature. i will try an oil swap to see if my mobil 1 syn oil is to sticky and not returning to the crank case. these are splasher lubricated engines although i have no idea how the oil goes up the oil line to the head. so any ideas on the oil light, maybe a bad switch or sticky oil?

Re: G2 low oil light & sensor
Unplug the oil switch, it's in the pan and I bet can only rear low oil in the crankcase.
Not much oil up top is common and seems not to be a issue. There is a oil line that has a tee in it to pulse oil up it and a check. As long as the check works you are getting oil. |

Re: G2 low oil light & sensor
thanks for the reply, the cart is a 1988 vintage with probably less than 50 hours on it. its 100% original mechanically. i probably should change out the check valve to be on the safe side, i figured the oil light was more headache than its worth since G9's don't have this feature. i will probably leave the circuit in tacked so when i see the light its just a reminder to check the oil in an off chance i loose a crank seal. i can tell you this you don't want to add a pvc valve as i tried. it will block the crankcases ability to pulse just enough to prevent the fuel pump from working.

Probably can unplug the line at the top and fill it with oil, if it stays your fine
