Default What to look for on a G16 Gas

Greetings all,

I am still in the middle of a G1 resurrection project but I have stumbled upon a 1998 G16 gas cart that I am about to pull the trigger on.

Haven’t given it a test drive or inspection yet but all pics & info received from the owner thus far are pointing towards it being a solid good running cart for its age.

Any known G16 issues/items that I should look for when I go drive/inspect it before deciding to hand over the $$ ??

An Engine.... Just kidding....

Quiet engine operation.
Axle that doesn't "roar" as speed increases.
Clutches will be hard to get a great idea on without more inspection than you might get in a short time, but smooth operation.

Brakes aren't much of a worry, brake parts are pretty cheap.

Loose steering can be adjusted somewhat, but the new parts don't seem that great.

Check the frame for rust/rot.

Wow that must be nice! It’s just one after the other here. Every EzGo or Yamaha I get!

Any cart frame can be bent or a be a victim of rust/rot due to a harsh or salty environment. I replaced the frame on a cart I bought in Myrtle Beach because of too much rot.

The G16 frame is very similar design to the G1 for overall construction type, but some of the points that break in the G1 are actually stronger on the G16. So I'm not so sure about that comparison.
