1993 DS gas starter generator stays running.

I fixed a stick valve issue on my DS and installed the engine back on the cart. I've checked all the wiring against the diagrams and its correct. Solenoid is good and replaced the 4 limit switches for good measure. But when I hook up the battery cables the starter/gen just starts running on it's own. It wont stop until cables are disconnected. I checked resistance across all terminals, the one that reads out of spec in the field coils. Could this be why it's doing that. I plan on just replacing with a new starter if so. Thanks.

Check your solenoid and see if it is activated. If yes then try turning the key off and see if it stops. If yes then the pedal switch is bad or wired that way

Sounds like the solenoid is hooked up wrong. The solenoid shouldn’t activate until you push the pedal. Remove the wires from the small posts on the solenoid and see if it still acts the same, if it does the solenoid is stuck closed.

Is anything pushing against the pedal?

Can someone post a pic of the wiring hooked up at the solenoid and micro switches? I wired them exactly the way they were when I replaced them. Turning the key doesn't stop the starter and nothing is pushed against the pedal. I've checked everything against the schematic and I'm stumped. Thanks for your help!
