Hopefully so. Or email them to lukelindblom@icloud.com and I’ll post them here.

Yamaha Gas golfcart
That’s a G2 (White steering wheel and no rubber around front cowl)

Re: Yamaha Gas golfcart
Thank you. Now the fun begins trying to find an overhaul kit for it. They plan is a restore. I can start but has a bad knock.

Re: Yamaha Gas golfcart
Agreed, looks like a G2 someone painted the steering column and trim around the cowl. G9 would have a black steering wheel and rubber on the surround around the cowl. With the older carts it's hard to tell... look at the bottom of the engine. If there are wires coming out near the drain plug, and a light in the dash it's definitely a G2, late 1980's G9 did not have the oil level sensor.
If its knocking, that motor is done, plain and simple. You have 2 options, either call plowmans for a rebuild, or do a big block swap (vegas carts is the way to go). Finding OEM parts for these is getting difficult, of not nearly impossible. I'm in the same situation now with my G9. It runs awesome but smokes like a train. |

Re: Yamaha Gas golfcart
Definitely a G2 then. If you have a horizontal shaft Kohler then go for it! Or you can get a 420 from home depot, harbor freight, or northern tools for $300 or less and be ready to rock and roll
The builder kit from vegas carts is about the same price. Ut better I thermals than off the shelf lifan or predator |

Re: Yamaha Gas golfcart
Only kits I saw at vegas carts where over 1k. One question I have is should I try to keep the starter/generator or stick with the factory starter on the kohler?

Re: Yamaha Gas golfcart
I would take a look inside of the engine. If the crank isn't hurt and the cases are OK the other parts are available. Once it is apart see what is needed. I look at TNT for the part #s and then look at boats.net for stock and the best prices I have seen anywhere for genuine yamaha parts. Of course if bigger power is on your list then a great buy is to get the assemble yourself Vegascarts 460 engine which has all the speed goodies delivered to you door for $350.
