Yamaha G2 driven clutch with clone swap
I am fighting a G2 driven clutch on my cart with clone swap. It will only shift easily when the primary clutch is not spinning, in other words, when the engine is off. The comet 780 primary clutch has brand new1800 rpm springs.
I have bought a high torque spring, and when I was preparing for that, I discovered that the half moon key was missing. If I had a driven clutch with a bad spring, and no key, would this keep the transaxle from being able to shift at a low rpm? My engine is running at 1100 rpm I cannot figure this one out... Any help is appreciated Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk |

Re: Yamaha G2 driven clutch with clone swap
How much belt play do you have? Be sure your belt alignment is correct cause proper belt play and a misaligned clutch system will drag enough to make shifting difficult. Your rpm is slow enough, are your shift cables clean and free moving? The missing drive key will in time eat the end of the input shaft off of the transmission, it's the most expensive part in the gearbox. I would stop running till you replace the drive key
