Have new clutch, what to do with old one?
So I have a new CPP clutch for my 1999 Yamaha G16A that I’m installing tomorrow. My old clutch looks like it’s OK. There’s a flat spot on one of the rollers. But should I just have it machined and get a new roller set and kind of refresh it and just keep it? It’s OEM. I also confirmed thanks to the help of a member on here that my new clutch is indeed the quality US made unit.

I never throw out good parts. Never know when you will need them.
For that matter, I never throw out old parts either unless there complete trash. Never know when you may need a spare roller, pin, jet, spring, or something else down the road |

I agree with keeping parts for spares. I have been quoted as saying:

Ok. I’ll keep it. I’m living on a tour bus full time with my wife and kids at the moment so I have to make decisions about what I keep and what goes. Those luggage bays are only so big and right now they’re crammed with stuff.

Wow, nice bus! Yes, in your case you might just toss it if you don't need anything off of it in a few months.
