No, I have a Chinese knockoff called a Dynamic Cart (https://dynamiccarts.com/collections...mo-full-loaded). They sell them out of Texas. Per Bob, the controller is a Chinese clone (1232SER) of a Curtis despite it being advertised as a genuine Curtis. The thing is brand new so I hope nothing is worn. The only thing I have seen described about the brakes is "rear wheel drum brake" but information is limited. I worry that the way they cloned/wrote the VCL is somehow using that EM brake parameter even if there isn't one. That said, I clearly just make guesses and am out of my element. Maybe Bob has more insight being the expert? It really sucks not getting the equipment I thought I was getting and I'm trying my best here with it.

Understood. Well, I'd try out setting EM Brake Type to 0 (instead of current 2) and testing it. But sure, others may have more insight.

Yes late model e means serial connection on 1239e is different voltage then ttl serial. Any chance older version of 1314 and homemade dongle would connect so that I could change some basic parameters ( after factory os and hpevs vcl file is installed ). And yes I realize this question has being asked and answered but it's somewhat ambiguous. Will it connect enough to change some parameters?

More than just a ttl serial voltage change. Protocol changes as well. Handsets also lost comm abilities during the transition.

A ton of information on this thread. I am new and looking to program my curtis controller. From the 160 pages of reading on this thread, it appears that I need:
1. USB-9 pin serial
2. 9 pin serial to molex 4 pin
3. 1314 software
4. Registry info

I am currently on the step of the software. Can anyone email a copy of the software? kdonut .... hotmail ... com

Also, if anyone has step by step instructions, that would be great.

I reached out to Curtis technical support to identify if I have a counterfeit controller. I provided pictures of the controller and labels. Support responded with:

"The 1232SER-5422 is a variant of the 1232SE. We only build & sell the SER model out of Curtis China. I guess your cart is probably an import. You should contact the OEM for related inquiries, including documentation requests."

While there might be limitations to the US variant it is not an unauthorized clone. To be sure I also checked with Trojan on my batteries and MAHLE on my motor. All confirmed they were genuine products.

Bob I have/had a 2019 72V Txt that you have programmed for me. I sold it to my Brother in law and doubt your coming to New Hampshire any time soon lol. Since you have already worked your magic on The controller what handled programmer does he need to be able to make changes? Mainly acceleration, throttle sensitivity and top speed (need to slow down a hair.)

Thank You

Does anyone have the procedure for restoring a 1230 controller with a oem level handheld?
I am getting the dreaded 5-3 code for parameters corrupt.

Thanks in advance
