2007 ezgo workhorse metal particles in oil
So I may have purchased a lemon lol. I had a piston connecting rod break on me and I changed it out and I tried to clean the particles out of the engine best I could but when I put it all back together and ran it a couple miles I noticed that the oil was metallic. Could this be from residual particles that I didn't get out? Also I'm only getting 125 psi from that changed cylinder. When I drop some oil in the cylinder and do a compression test again I get 150 psi. Other cylinder is 160 psi. What could that be? Thanks

Re: 2007 ezgo workhorse metal particles in oil
If you didn't do an overbore etc then I'd say your cylinder walls probably have scoring or it's out of spec, causing wear and low comp.
Glitter in the oil is not unusual, especially with new bearings and/or rings etc. New rings and bearing will "break in" and all the worn metal from that process will be in the oil as a very fine metal dust known as "glitter". Shavings and chunks would not be good. That indicates a broken or severely worn part. |
