gas marathon no reverse

I have an 89 ezgo gas marathon that starts in forward but not reverse . Any ideas? Also this weekend it started not starting when hot. motor spins in forward and i have spark for sure . Any way to check fuel pump presure or what compression should . Thanks

Compression is around 120 PSI. Much below 90 and it's time to think about a rebuild. Since it has a carb it should have enough fuel in the carb fuel bowl to start it. Are you sure it has a nice blue spark? The HEI upgrade and a TFI coil worked wonders on mine.

Thank you for the compression will check it tomorrow . The spark seemed nice in blue but will use a spark tester tomorrow.

Does it crank over in reverse and just not start? IF it cranks over in reverse does it spark?

it does nothing in reverse switched the 2 wires on the micro switches backup beeper sounded but still nothing in reverse compression is good and so is spark tested both.
