88 Marathon Lift Question

I was looking at the lift that was on my cart when I purchased it, shouldn't the lift blocks be on the front axel instead of under the body? I have attached a picture. Also where do I find one of these types of shoe ramps for my driven clutch, I have looked everywhere but none look the same as mine.

I have a 86 and I put the blocks and the shock risers on on the axel. Mind hase been on for over 4 years and no problems. As far as the driven clutch mine was wore out could not find parts so just orderd a new one and what a difference it made in speed.

There should be blocks between the square spring mounts and the axle. When I lifted mine, I cut the old spindles off the old axle. Welded a lift kit and the spindles on a 12" wider axle and then when to the local auto parts and bought shocks that matched what I was looking for. I had to order them but it works great. 5 years now. This picture is while I was still reassembling. I will post one present day to give you some ideas!!!0518071149a.jpg

Looks good. I now have a steering stabilizer on mine and a cover over the front to make it look better. I bought the HD Springs from Buggies for the front. I had custom coils made for the back. They hold 500# per side now. I originally had air shocks on the rear but rode like crap. We use ours on the road only and we are very happy how it rides. I need to order the new steering box, mine has too much slop and it has about 2" of play from side to side when you are sitting still. I will snap a photo of mine this weekend when I am with it and post. This is of the rear long after I rebuilt it. I forget the dimensions on the coils but you can see they are much longer and stronger.

What would be the benefit of me moving my lift blocks to the front axel? If I put them on the front axel wont it throw my front end outa wack and I will have to bend the ends of my springs up?

The aftermarket lift at the time was made to mount up front, between the spring and axle. I used to be a machinist, now an engineer but I still know how to use tools. I angled the bracket I welded onto the riser to match the pitch of the spring. The axle sits perpendicular to the ground or at a slight angle. I used the same angles as stock except I lifted it a lot. I did this several years ago so I don't have everything in my memory. I drive it everyweekend. Since I widened it, I had to custom make tie rods and the center steering rod. Quite simple and twice as thick. I bent the first set I bought after 1 day of driving. I have made everything myself since that I could.
