Back fires when I stop
I have a 2003 txt that backfires when I stopped. What might cause this?

Carb throttle plate not closed completely at stop. Still partway open. Throttle cable may need adjusted to correct the problem.

Low idle jet may be open too far. Make sure it is set to spec.

not sure bout the txt,,but my old marathon backfired every time i let off and mashed the gas..
was a spring missing between the accel cable and bracket to keep the choke flap closed when you let off the gas to keep fuel from entering,then when you hit it it goes kaapoww,haha may not be your problem tho,,  |
