I used the OEM spacer on the new shaft and there was too much slop, so I used 2 from the kit and all was well. The more you have it apart, the easier it gets

I used the OEM spacer on the new shaft and there was too much slop, so I used 2 from the kit and all was well. Zero slop, but turns easy. The more you have it apart, the easier it gets

Thanks for the input. I'm trying to do this only once, but I have a feeling that I'll be opening the tranny a couple of times. I have a camping trip in a month and I need the cart to be functional. I'm going to order everything tomorrow, and hopefully have it fixed by the end of next week. I'll keep you posted.

where do the spacers go to eliminate the end play? which side of the new input shaft..

At the far end, away from the clutch. Make sure they do not fall off during installation of the shaft.

Are you using a kit? A new gasket is important.
