Default 1996 club car, how to tell engine size?

I just purchased a 1996 club car and want to know how can i tell what engine it has? I took a few pictures and will try to upload them and post here.

I think the serial number would be a good start. Should be passenger side under dash.

Should be a 290cc, if its a ds or precedent model.

In the mid 90's there weren't many variations of engine sizes in Club Cars, the FE290's were used the most!
Somewhere in the mid-90's, Kawasaki started putting bar code stickers on the fan shroud, it looks like this:

The code line is your engine size.

If... by chance you don't have a bar code sticker, there are 2 other places on the engine that will tell you what it is,
and both are very difficult to see with the engine in the cart, but it may be possible!

On the side of the fan shroud, between the engine, and transaxle, there should be another tag, it looks like this:

All else fails... on the rear base of the engine, (next to the rear oil drain plug) FE290 will be stamped on it.
