Default 2000 cc ds transaxle problem

I have a 2000 club car ds gas golf cart that had a bad upper bearing in the transaxle that I recently replaced. I put the transaxle back together and the driven clutch shaft spins fine in neutral, forward & Rev. without the axles bolted up. When I try to install the axles back onto the transaxle the passenger side bolts up fine. When I try to install the driver side the spine goes in fine but when I torque the bolts to 39 LBS or just tighten the bolts, I can not turn the splines. The axle flange on the passenger side bolts up to the transaxle face to face. The driver side axle flange has a 1/8 gap when I stick the spline into the transaxle and I have to tighten the bolt to move the flange to get face to face. Can anyone help me on what I'm doing wrong? Note.....I'm trying to install the axles with the transaxle off the cart and on the ground. I was going to bolt everything together and install the whole axle on the cart all together. Sorry for going into so much detail but I'm just trying to give you guys as much detail as possible to make the best judgment of what I'm doing wrong.

Never mind... I took apart the transaxle and reinstalled the bearings and it worked.

I saw this thread this morning but, I haven't taken a unitized transaxle apart, so I didn't reply..
BUT... I wanted to post an exploded view of it so other readers could help, but I didn't!

So... what was the problem with the bearings?

The bottom bearings that bolt to the axles wouldn't move side to side and the bearing just stayed to one side. I cleaned and lubed and fixed the problem.
