Default 1986 Marathon rebuilt fuel problems

Rebuilt motor, put in new fuel pump and carb it ran for about 3 mins and stopped. Now the new fuel pump is not pumping and when I fill the carb with gas it is not getting to piston. I have compression and spark plug is firing. Please help.

The piston goes in with the square hole in the side facing the intake port. The piston rings go in with the bevel side up. If you didn't know that until now, that's where you start.

Another possibility would be the new crankshaft seals that you should have installed could have popped loose, or were shredded due to lack of a pre-lubrication.

Just a thought as the previous one is a good one also. but did you make sure the lines from the new pump are correct? Did you replace all fuel filters? Did you check to make sure you are getting gas from the tank to the pump. I had a line that was not lifting gas from tank once. Just a thought at this point.
Yet another thought, are the reeds working?

How do I check to see if the reeds are working? Today I feed gas directly into the carburetor and it did not have enough suction to be pulled into the piston. I checked the compression at spark plug, it read 120. Is air coming in from somewhere else? New fuel pump is not getting gas from tank.
