ST400 Fuji transaxle fw/rev
I can adjust transaxle shift cable to get forward engagement but then lose rev. and vice versa. I also tried adjusting shifter but still same problem. After tearing into trans. the only wear I can find is in the fw/rev. pin clutch and the gears, both forward and reverse. The pins that engage into the holes on the gears have some wear as well as the holes in the gears which are egg shaped. As the pins try to engage they skip over the holes and grind. The cart has had a problem leading up to this when you would shift directions. The cart would rev without moving and then slam into gear. Then you could only change directions by rocking the cart to get the pins and holes to engage in the selected direction of travel. I priced the shift clutch and 2 gears, bearings, gaskets ect. and the price is close to the price of a whole transaxle. has anyone else had this problem and am I headed in the rite direction on this repair?
