Default Aftermarket Starter Generator???

I just purchased a 99 gas Carryall and it runs perfect except it seems to have a little delay when taking off. I was reading another post and they said something about aftermarket generator causing a delay. Would someone fully explain this to me and tell me if I have an aftermarket starter generator.
Thanks

how this works is when you step on the pedal the starter turns for a fraction of a second until the piston is on the compression stroke, then it doesn't have the power to overcome the compression so it sits and does nothing for however long it takes for a little compression to leak past the rings, some of the later club cars have a compression release so this doesn't happen.

Factory starter/gen should have a Club Car sticker on it.

What do you mean when you say it has a delay?
Describe your issue in a little more detail and maybe someone can give you more help figuring it out.

I figured out my delay after reading how to set idle speed. My idle screw was totally backed off, Set it like manual stated and delay is gone.
Thanks
